Sure I’ve been away, but I’d like to think I’m sort of “in the know” about local planning and infrastructure issues. Only to be surprised to hear about Kingsford Smith Drive Upgrade just recently, out of an office conversation.
How’d I miss this and why is this not in the news more?
I then found it on the BCC website. Shocked at some options and concerned why people aren’t caring about some of them, like tunnels and elevated structures in/along the River! http://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/traffic-transport/plans-projects/transport-projects/Kingsford-Smith-Drive-Upgrade/index.htm
Despite all the good intentions of proper community consultation, this is highlighting to me a few things:
A) Why don’t people care about these things?
B) Why do we only hear about things when people are vocally complaining/protesting?
C) Why does the community so accept more road building as solutions?
