60+ people in a laneway and a great night to be talking about public space while IN a public space.
I talked about “Festivals as City Making”, and where I am inspired in public space activation, exciting people about urban design and starting community festivals.

**Great work by Brooke for making the night happen and very cool to see Salma’s My Wish for Brisbane happen.

I thouight it was a great night and I had some fascinating conversations with various people.
On a personal note, I used to work across the road from this little alleyway. Around the time I started, it had recently transformed from nondescript alley to one with coffee shops and cafes, complete with urban design. Our team of transport planners would often go to coffee there, describing it as “the active frontage”. A small but significant way that Brisbane is gradually becoming a more interesting and vibrant place to live and work.
